“There are definitely no two days the same in our business, and definitely not in Aberdeen.

“My name is Roula, and I manage two hotels currently in Aberdeen, the Hampton by Hilton Aberdeen Airport and Westhill. We are not your Gatwick hotel that caters to families going on holiday. The majority and bulk of the business we deal with are offshore mobilisations.

“Guests are here two weeks on, two weeks off. Any poor weather would immediately impact our guests because that stops them from going offshore so we have to plan for these contingencies.

“When I joined the hotel, Goldstar were already a supplier. They provided us with window cleaning services, landscaping, and support us mainly during winter with all our winter needs for road safety. They do our gritting as well.

“They also support us on an ad hoc basis for deep cleaning needs. If we need, for example, a carpet deep clean because of a stain, I can’t wait two or three days because then I cannot sell this room, and that is a loss of revenue for us. That impacts us poorly if the supplier is not able to be responsive and timely.
